9 - 11 October 2013

Broadbeach Queensland

Queensland will be hosting the 2013 National Conference, welcome reception and dinner events.
The conference will be held on 9-11 October 2013 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Broadbeach.

The conference, "Leading beyond the breaks into oceans of opportunity" will explore and promote national and international themes and directions in VET, with an emphasis on leadership in times of change.

A welcome reception will take place on the evening of 9 October, and a conference gala dinner will be held on the evening of 10 October.

AUSTAFE announces that the 2013 National Conference will be held on the Gold Coast between the 9th and 11th of October.

The 2012 Conference Organisers hope to have the edited versions of the filmed delivery presentations of Key Note, Cultural and Theme Speakers on the AUSTAFE Web Page in early 2013.

The 2012 AUSTAFE AGM, held in conjunction with the National Conference in Alice Springs in early October, conducted elections to select office bearers for the next 12 months.

The AUSTAFE National Executive for 2013 is as follows;

At the 2012 AGM, Lyle Mellors thanked all retiring executive officers for their participation and dedication to AUSTAFE over their past years of service.
Lyle offered congratulations to all incoming executive officers and wished them every success as they continue to lead AUSTAFE as the National representative body of TAFE middle managers

Greg Larsen is awarded AUSTAFE Honorary Life Membership
Long term member of AUSTAFE, past President of both the National and Qld Executive and hugely passionate advocate for the values of AUSTAFE as a national organisation of TAFE professionals; Greg Larsen has been awarded Life Membership of AUSTAFE.

AUSTAFE 2012 Emerging Leaders recognised at annual Conference
Introduced by AUSTAFE Inc. in 2009, this annual award recognises an emerging leader in the Australian vocational education and training system.
The award is presented to an individual who has the potential to make an outstanding contribution to Australian vocational training and education over and above that which is expected by virtue of their employment.

Kaylene Harth, Director of Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE in Qld, was recently announced as the winner of the 2012 AUSTAFE Educational Leader.
