2013 AUSTAFE Membership Subscriptions now due

Dear AUSTAFE Members

In 2013, the focus of AUSTAFE will be to engage each one of the chapters and jurisdictions in communicating strategies to meet the challenges and explore the opportunities that this year will bring to the Vocational Education and Training sector. There will be opportunities to share ideas in response to the changing environment and increased communication from the AUSTAFE National Executive team.

Foremost on the agenda are the proposed skills reforms. The speed by which the reforms will be implemented depends on the responses from each State in signing the National Partnership Agreement. While each State’s response to reforms will be different, there will be some common challenges as funding models change, new targets are set and the effects of a contestable market place is realised. AUSTAFE members will have a role to play in shaping the new world of TAFE in Australia.

The AUSTAFE National Conference 2013 will be held on the Gold Coast on 9 -11 October. Your attendance at the conference is great opportunity for you to exchange ideas and expand your professional networks. Please visit the website to learn more about the conference as the planning progresses.

Membership renewals fall due in March each year and I have attached details on how to re-new your membership below.

I look forward to the year and the role of AUSTAFE in 2013.

Geoff Bird
National President
